Illinois High School Softball - Fairfield nudges Benton
March 21, 2022: Fairfield, IL 62837 Fairfield Mules (Fairfield, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Benton Rangers (Benton, IL), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.
The Mules now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Sesser-Valier/Waltonville for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 23. Fairfield will battle a Red Devils squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (Norris City, IL). The Red Devils record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Benton falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Rangers host Wayne City (Wayne City, IL) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Wayne City lost 17-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Edwards County (Albion, IL)
