West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC), 9-5 in a non-league test.

With the win, West Columbus upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Vikings host Whiteville (Whiteville, NC) to battle the Wolfpack in a Waccamaw 1A/2A test on Monday, March 25. The Wolfpack come into the test with a record of 6-1. Whiteville won 12-1 in their recent league test against Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC)

With the defeat, Fairmont falls to 4-6 on the season. The Golden tornadoes travel to Midway (Dunn, NC) to battle the Raiders in a Southeastern Athletic 2A test on Tuesday, March 26. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 6-3. Midway won 8-7 in their recent non-league test against West Johnston (Benson, NC)
