The Nicholas County Grizzlies softball team scored 12 runs and held the host Ripley Vikings to 1 in the Grizzlies non-league win on Friday.

The Grizzlies now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Liberty for a Coalfield AA battle on Monday, March 24. Nicholas County will encounter a Raiders team coming off a 7-2 league win over Midland Trail (Hico, WV). The Raiders record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Ripley moves to 0-3 on the season. The Vikings travel to Independence (Coal City, WV) to encounter the Patriots in a battle on Saturday, March 22. The Patriots come into the battle with a record of 1-0. Independence won 14-6 in their recent non-league battle against Point Pleasant (Point Pleasant, WV)
