Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Piedmont Community Charter Patriots (Gastonia, NC), 12-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Rams now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Gaston for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Highland Tech will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 14-1 league win over Shelby (Shelby, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Piedmont Community Charter falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Concord Academy (Concord, NC) to battle the Eagles in a NICSAA Metrolina challenge on Monday, March 27. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Concord Academy lost 15-5 in their recent league challenge against Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC)
