East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Urchins now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host New Albany for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 25. East Union will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 8-6 league win over North Pontotoc (Ecru, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Belmont falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Cherokee (Cherokee, AL) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 26.
