The Watauga Pioneers softball team (Boone, NC), was routed 9-1 in Tuesday's league bout with the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC)

The Titans (6-4) will now prepare for their bout against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the Northwestern 6A/7A bout with a 4-8 record. In their last bout, Freedom was routed by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 15-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the North Iredell Raiders (Olin, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, March 25. Watauga will attempt to advance on its 5-6 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 6-4 league loss to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC).
