The Churchill County Greenwave the host Newark Memorial Cougars softball squad by a count of 5-3 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Greenwave (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against Fernley (Fernley, NV). The Vaqueros go into the 3A North - East battle with a 5-0 record.

The Cougars now sport a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Livingston for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 26. Newark Memorial will meet a Wolves squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Hilmar (Hilmar, CA). The Wolves record now stands at 4-7.
