Mississippi High School Softball - South Jones bounces West Jones
March 25, 2024: Laurel, MS 39443 South Jones Braves (Ellisville, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS), 15-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Braves now sport a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookhaven for a 5A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. South Jones will face a Panthers squad coming off a 15-9 non-league win over Riverside (Avon, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 12-7.
With the loss, West Jones falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Hattiesburg (Hattiesburg, MS) to face the Tigers in a 6A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Hattiesburg lost 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Terry (Terry, MS)
