In Tuesday's non-league game, the visiting Purnell Swett Rams baseball team scored a close 8-2 win over the Lumberton Pirates.

The Rams (6-3) will now prepare for their game against Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC). The Bears go into the game with a 4-5 record. In their last game, Gray's Creek was overwhelmed by Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC), 12-3, in a league game.

Next, the Pirates play the Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) in a game, on Friday, March 28. Lumberton will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Colts go into the game with a 11-0 record after their 12-3 league win over Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC).
