Illinois High School Baseball - Meridian loses to Goreville
March 27, 2025: Goreville, IL 62939 Goreville Blackcats (Goreville, IL) fans left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the visiting Meridian Bobcats (Mounds, IL), 19-4 in a non-league match.
With the triumph, Goreville advances its record to 4-4 on the season. The Blackcats travel to Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league match on Friday, March 28. The Cardinals come into the match with a record of 3-0. Pleasant Plains won 9-8 in their recent non-league match against Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL)
The Bobcats now have a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elverado for a South Egyptian match on Friday, March 28. Meridian will battle a Falcons squad coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to Sparta (Sparta, IL). The Falcons record now stands at 0-6.
