In Thursday's league bout, the University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) baseball squad edged the visiting Parkersburg South Patriots (Parkersburg, WV), by a tally of 7-6.

Next up, the Hawks encounter the Hampshire Trojans (Romney, WV) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, March 29. University will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Trojans enter the bout with a 0-5 record after their 9-2 non-league loss to Musselman (Inwood, WV).

With the defeat, Parkersburg South drops to 4-5 on the year. The Patriots travel to Fort Frye (Beverly, OH) to play the Cadets in a non-league test on Monday, March 31. The Cadets go into the test with a record of 1-0.
