In Monday's non-league contest, the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), by a margin of 11-1.

With the triumph, Union Pines moves its record to 6-5 on the year. The Vikings host Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to play the Patriots in a Sandhills 3A/4A contest on Tuesday, March 29. The Patriots come into the contest with a record of 4-5. Pinecrest won 5-1 in their recent league contest against Hoke County (Raeford, NC)

In their next game, the Timberwolves play the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A contest, on Tuesday, March 29.
