The Taft Greyhounds baseball team (Taft, TX), 4-2 in Thursday's league outing with the visiting Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX)

The Pirates now hold a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to George West for a 3A Region IV District 29 outing on Tuesday, April 2. Mathis will battle a Longhorns squad coming off a 20-0 league win over Keene (Keene, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 17-18.

With the defeat, Taft falls to 8-13 on the season. The Greyhounds host Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 3A Region IV District 29 test on Tuesday, April 2. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 1-15.
