Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 9-7 record. They take the field next when they host Tivy for a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Canyon will face a Antlers squad coming off a 7-3 league loss to Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Antlers record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, Veterans Memorial falls to 17-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX) to face the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Boerne-Champion won 11-4 in their recent league challenge against Wagner (San Antonio, TX)
