The Azle Hornets baseball team scored 2 runs and held the host Saginaw Rough Riders to 1 in the Hornets league win on Friday.

The Hornets now hold a 12-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Granbury for a 5A Region I District 5 test on Tuesday, April 1. Azle will play a Pirates team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 12-5.

With the defeat, Saginaw drops to 3-16 on the year. The Rough riders host Boswell (Fort Worth, TX) to play the Pioneers in a non-league test on Saturday, March 29. The Pioneers go into the test with a record of 18-1.
