In Friday's league bout, the McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX) baseball squad overwhelmed the visiting Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), by a tally of 8-1.

Next up, the Mustangs encounter the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout, on Tuesday, April 1. McAllen Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Wolverines enter the bout with a 6-12 record after their 13-0 league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX).

The Sabercats (10-10) will now prepare for their bout against McAllen (McAllen, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 5A Region IV District 31 bout with a 3-12 record. In their last bout, McAllen was overwhelmed by Pioneer (Mission, TX), 3-2, in a league bout.
