In Saturday's league test, the Marshall Mavericks (Marshall, TX) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Lufkin Panthers (Lufkin, TX), by a tally of 16-1.

Next, the Mavericks clash with the Whitehouse Wildcats (Whitehouse, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 test, on Tuesday, March 31. Marshall will attempt to advance on its 14-11 season record. The Wildcats go into the test with a 18-7 record after their 13-1 league win over Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX).

The Panthers (10-15) will now prepare for their test against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, TX). The Fightin' Indians go into the 5A Region II District 10 outing with a 3-15 record. In their last outing, Jacksonville was routed by Marshall (Marshall, TX), 13-0, in a league outing.
