With the triumph, Van betters its record to 10-2 on the season. The Vandals host Mabank (Mabank, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 4A Region II District 15 match on Thursday, March 5. The Panthers come into the match with a record of 7-8. Mabank lost 11-0 in their recent non-league match against Thrall (Thrall, TX)
In their next game, the Hornets battle the Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 match, on Friday, March 6. Athens will attempt to better on its 14-6 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the match with a 3-10 record after their 17-0 league loss to Lindale (Lindale, TX).
