Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 10-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Watauga upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC) to face the Black Hawks in a non-league bout on Monday, April 3. The Black Hawks enter the bout with a record of 4-5. North Buncombe lost 7-4 in their recent league bout against McDowell (Marion, NC)

Next, the Patriots face the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 3. Freedom will attempt to move on its 4-6 season record. The Cavaliers enter the bout with a 3-5 record after their 7-6 non-league loss to Maiden (Maiden, NC).
