Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS), 7-2 in a league test.

With the win, Northwest Rankin upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Cougars host Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS) to battle the Vikings in a 6A Region 6 test on Tuesday, April 4. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 13-6. Warren Central won 14-1 in their recent league test against Terry (Terry, MS)

With the defeat, Pearl falls to 8-11 on the season. The Pirates travel to Terry (Terry, MS) to battle the Bulldogs in a 6A Region 6 test on Tuesday, April 4. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 7-10. Terry lost 18-8 in their recent non-league test against Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS)
