The Freedom Patriots softball squad (Morganton, NC), was routed 16-0 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC)

With the triumph, Draughn improves its record to 1-1 on the year. The Wildcats host Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to face the Panthers in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A contest on Tuesday, March 10. The Panthers enter the contest with a record of 3-1. Hibriten won 10-6 in their recent non-league contest against Freedom (Morganton, NC)

The Patriots now hold a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Hibriten for a non-league bout on Friday, March 6. Freedom will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 15-5 non-league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 2-1.
