The A.L. Brown Wonders softball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting North Stanly Comets to 4 in the Wonders non-league win on Thursday.

The Wonders now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology for a Greater Metro (GMAC) 6A/7A challenge on Friday, March 6. A.L. Brown will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 14-3 league loss to West Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 0-2.

The Comets (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against West Stanly (Oakboro, NC). The Colts go into the non-league challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, West Stanly held off Parkwood (Monroe, NC), 4-1, in a league challenge.
