In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Sunnyslope Vikings volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Valley Vista Monsoon.

The Vikings (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Mountain Ridge (Glendale, AZ). The Mountain Lions come into the 6A Desert Valley challenge with a 2-3 record. In their last challenge, Mountain Ridge lost by Casteel (Queen Creek, AZ), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Monsoon play the Skyline Coyotes (Mesa, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, March 20. Valley Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
