In Friday's league test, the Maud Cardinals (Maud, TX) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Rivercrest Rebels (Bogata, TX), by a tally of 14-4.

Next, the Cardinals meet the Detroit Eagles (Detroit, TX) in a 2A Region III District 17 test, on Tuesday, March 10. Maud will attempt to advance on its 9-3 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 5-2 record after their 3-2 league loss to Linden-Kildare (Linden, TX).

The Rebels (2-12) will now prepare for their test against McLeod (McLeod, TX). The Longhorns go into the 2A Region III District 17 test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, McLeod toppled Bowie (Simms, TX), 15-3, in a league test.
