The Big Spring Steers baseball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Merkel Badgers to 6 in the Steers non-league win on Saturday.

The Steers now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lubbock Christian for a non-league test on Saturday, March 8. Big Spring will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 4-8.

With the defeat, Merkel drops to 8-3 on the year. The Badgers host Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX) to clash with the Eagles in a 3A Region I District 6 test on Tuesday, March 11.
