April 1, 2024: Stamps, AR 71860 Emerson Pirates (Emerson, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lafayette County Cougars (Stamps, AR), 17-14 in a league challenge.
The Pirates now own a 4-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Garrett Memorial Christian for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2.
With the loss, Lafayette County falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Hermitage (Hermitage, AR) to meet the Hermits in a 1A Region 8 battle on Tuesday, April 2. The Hermits go into the battle with a record of 2-4. Hermitage lost 15-0 in their recent league battle against Taylor (Taylor, AR)
