The Topsail Pirates softball squad (Hampstead, NC), was routed 9-0 in Tuesday's league contest with the host Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC)

With the triumph, Laney improves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Buccaneers host West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC) to face the Trojans in a Mideastern 3A/4A contest on Friday, April 4. The Trojans enter the contest with a record of 5-5. West Brunswick lost 6-0 in their recent league contest against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)

The Pirates now hold a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Dixon for a non-league contest on Thursday, April 3. Topsail will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-7.
