New Mexico High School Softball - Portales nudges Clovis
April 10, 2024: Portales, NM 88130 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Portales Rams (Portales, NM) and the visiting Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM), saw Portales's softball squad nip Clovis by a count of 3-2.
The Rams now sport a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Lovington for a 4A District 4 match on Tuesday, April 16. Portales will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 13-3 non-league win over Dexter (Dexter, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 14-3.
With the loss, Clovis falls to 2-12 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM) to face the Cavemen in a 5A District 4 match on Tuesday, April 16. The Cavemen enter the match with a record of 7-7. Carlsbad lost 11-10 in their recent non-league match against Hobbs (Hobbs, NM)
