Iowa High School Soccer - Mt. Vernon knocks off Baxter
April 10, 2025: Baxter, IA Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the host Baxter (Baxter, IA), saw Mt. Vernon's soccer squad prevail over Baxter by a count of 5-1.
The Mustangs (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against West Liberty (West Liberty, IA). The Comets enter the non-league battle with a 0-3 record. In their last battle, West Liberty Mid-Prairie (Wellman, IA), 1-1, in a league battle.
Next up, the confront the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks (Colfax, IA) in a non-league battle, on Monday, April 14. Baxter will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Tigerhawks enter the battle with a 4-0 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Van Meter (Van Meter, IA).
