Massachusetts High School Softball - Wayland holds off Winthrop
April 11, 2022: Winthrop, MA 02152 The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Wayland Warriors (Wayland, MA) and the host Winthrop Vikings (Winthrop, MA), saw Wayland's softball squad nip Winthrop by a count of 12-10.
The Warriors now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Bedford for a Dual County Small match on Wednesday, April 13. Wayland will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over North Andover (North Andover, MA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Winthrop falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Marblehead (Marblehead, MA) to face the Magicians in a Northeast match on Wednesday, April 13. The Magicians enter the match with a record of 0-1.
