New Jersey High School Softball - Union Catholic holds off New Providence
April 11, 2023: Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 Union Catholic Vikings (Scotch Plains, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ), 8-6 in a league challenge.
The Vikings now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Oak Knoll for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. Union Catholic will face a Royals squad coming off a 19-0 non-league win over Hillside (Hillside, NJ). The Royals record now stands at 1-1.
With the loss, New Providence falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Hoboken (Hoboken, NJ) to face the Redwings in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 13. The Redwings enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
