Illinois High School Baseball - Newman Central Catholic edges Orion

In Friday's league game, the visiting Newman Central Catholic Comets baseball team scored a close 3-1 win over the Orion Chargers.

The Comets (10-1) will now prepare for their game against Erie-Prophetstown (Erie, IL). The Panthers go into the Three Rivers game with a 3-5 record. In their last game, Erie-Prophetstown by Mercer County (Aledo, IL), 10-7, in a non-league game.

Next, the Chargers play the Monmouth-Roseville Titans (Monmouth, IL) in a Three Rivers game, on Monday, April 14. Orion will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Titans go into the game with a 4-6 record after their 10-0 league loss to Riverdale (Port Byron, IL).
