The crowd at Monday's league battle between the Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) and the visiting Kewanee Boilermakers (Kewanee, IL), saw Newman Central Catholic's baseball team get by Kewanee by a margin of 8-7.

The Comets (19-3) will now prepare for their battle against Mendota (Mendota, IL). The Trojans enter the Three Rivers battle with a 7-12 record. In their last battle, Mendota was tipped by Erie-Prophetstown (Erie, IL), 7-1, in a league battle.
