The Valley Central Vikings baseball team scored 12 runs and limited the host Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks to 5 in the Vikings non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Vikings (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY). The Crusaders go into the non-league match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Monroe-Woodbury nipped Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY), 7-5, in a non-league challenge.

With the defeat, Newburgh Free Academy falls to 2-4 on the season. The Goldbacks travel to Washingtonville (Washingtonville, NY) to battle the Wizards in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 14.
