April 12, 2024: Wentworth, NC 27375 The Rockingham County Cougars (Wentworth, NC) softball routed the visiting Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles (Greensboro, NC), 7-0 in Friday's league bout.
The Cougars (9-3) will now prepare for their bout against Morehead (Eden, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league bout with a 5-5 record. In their last bout, Morehead held off North Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC), 15-0, in a league bout.
The Golden Eagles now possess a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Dudley for a Mid-State 3A bout on Tuesday, April 16. Ben L. Smith will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 15-0 league loss to Eastern Guilford (Gibsonville, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 0-6.
