April 12, 2024: Fayetteville, NC 28304 The Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) softball nipped the host Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC), 1-0 in Friday's league bout.
The Bears (7-5) will now prepare for their bout against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates go into the United Eight 3A/4A bout with a 16-2 record. In their last bout, Lumberton held off Fairmont (Fairmont, NC), 9-2, in a non-league bout.
The Eagles now possess a 0-10 record. They play next when they host Purnell Swett for a United Eight 3A/4A bout on Monday, April 15.
