April 13, 2023: Altamont, KS 67330 Chanute Blue Comets (Chanute, KS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Labette County Grizzlies (Altamont, KS), 7-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Chanute upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Blue Comets host Frontenac (Frontenac, KS) to battle the Raiders in a non-league test on Friday, April 21. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 4-0.
With the defeat, Labette County falls to 1-6 on the season. The Grizzlies host Independence (Independence, KS) to battle the Bulldogs in a Southeast Kansas test on Friday, April 14. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-4. Independence lost 15-13 in their recent non-league test against Field Kindley (Coffeyville, KS)
