Spotswood Trailblazers (Penn Laird, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fort Defiance Indians (Fort Defiance, VA), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Trailblazers now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Harrisonburg for a Valley challenge on Friday, April 14. Spotswood will battle a Blue Streaks squad coming off a 10-4 league loss to Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Fort Defiance falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to battle the Green Hornets in a Shenandoah challenge on Friday, April 14. The Green Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 2-7. Wilson Memorial lost 9-0 in their recent league challenge against Stuarts Draft (Stuarts Draft, VA)
