April 14, 2022: Cleveland, TN 37312 The crowd at Thursday's league test between the Walker Valley Mustangs (Cleveland, TN) and the visiting McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN), saw Walker Valley's soccer squad knock off McMinn County by a margin of 6-4.
The Mustangs now sport a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Cleveland for a 3A District 5 test on Tuesday, April 19. Walker Valley will encounter a Blue Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Chattanooga Christian (Chattanooga, TN). The Blue Raiders record now stands at 2-10.
With the loss, McMinn County drops to 6-4 on the season. The Cherokees host Howard Tech (Chattanooga, TN) to encounter the Hustlin' Tigers in a 3A District 5 test on Tuesday, April 19. The Hustlin' Tigers come into the test with a record of 3-5. Howard Tech lost 4-2 in their recent league test against Rhea County (Evensville, TN)
