Texas High School Baseball - Burges loses to Canutillo
April 14, 2023: Canutillo, TX 79835 The Canutillo Eagles baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Burges Mustangs to 6 in the Eagles league victory on Friday.
The Eagles (12-6) will now prepare for their match against Andress (El Paso, TX). The Eagles go into the 5A Region I District 1 match with a 8-15 record. In their last match, Andress was overwhelmed by El Paso (El Paso, TX), 3-1, in a league match.
The Mustangs (13-10) will now prepare for their match against Chapin (El Paso, TX). The Huskies go into the 5A Region I District 1 match with a 5-21 record. In their last match, Chapin was overwhelmed by Jefferson (El Paso, TX), 5-2, in a league match.
Game Summary
Canutillo weathered a push by Burges in the 6th inning where Canutillo coughed up 4 runs, But Canutillo still won 10-6 on Friday. #2, #5 and #9 each drove in runs during the inning. Both pitching staffs hands their hands full, dealing with runners on base. Canutillo collected 14 hits and Burges had 9. Canutillo Eagles scored 3 runs in the 3rd.
