Match Summary
After a strong 3-0 start to the season, the Raider boys’ volleyball team suffered its first setback with a 1-3 loss to Ft. Wayne Wayne, bringing their record to 3-1. Despite the loss, the team showed flashes of dominant play that powered their early-season success, but ultimately fell short in a match where momentum shifted against them. Jayse Runyan led the offense with 7 kills and Owen Holmes followed closely with 6 kills. Contributions also came from Christian Horvath, Chris Janatello, and Jysen Besser, who each added 3 kills, providing depth across the rotation. Ryan Otto delivered 15 assists in the match. On the defensive side, Bryant Hernandez had 10 digs and added 3 aces. Janatello anchored the net with 7 blocks. While this is the team’s first loss, it also serves as a learning opportunity. With solid individual performances still shining through, we will likely use this experience to tighten execution, adjust strategies, and return to the court with a renewed edge.
