April 16, 2024: Montgomery, AL 36104 The Lanier Poets softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Selma Saints to 8 in the Poets non-league triumph on Tuesday.
Coming up next, the Poets encounter the Benjamin Russell Wildcats (Alexander City, AL) in a 6A Area 4 test, on Wednesday, April 17. Lanier will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Wildcats come into the test with a 4-11 record after their 12-0 league loss to Wetumpka (Wetumpka, AL).
The Saints (0-4) will now prepare for their test against Marbury (Marbury, AL). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Area 6 test with a 3-11 record. In their last test, Marbury was routed by Auburn (Auburn, AL), 8-1, in a non-league test.
