Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) followers left the game pleased Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), 8-0 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Covenant Day moves its record to 16-4 on the season. The Lions travel to Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Buccaneers in a NCISAA Charlotte match on Tuesday, April 22. The Buccaneers come into the match with a record of 5-15. Charlotte Country Day School won 5-4 in their recent non-league match against Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC)

The Eagles now possess a 10-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Providence for a Southwestern 4A match on Tuesday, April 22. East Mecklenburg will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 15-2.
