South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), 8-7 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, South Point improves its record to 10-5 on the year. The Red Raiders host North Gaston (Dallas, NC) to play the Wildcats in a Big South 3A game on Thursday, April 17. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 7-10. North Gaston lost 15-0 in their recent non-league game against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC)

The Warriors now hold a 18-3 record. They play next when they host Ashe County for a non-league game on Tuesday, April 22.
