Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team get by the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), 1-0 in a league test.

With the triumph, Sun Valley moves its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Independence (Charlotte, NC) to meet the Patriots in a non-league test on Monday, April 28. The Patriots come into the test with a record of 2-8.

The Pirates now sport a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host Marvin Ridge for a Southern Carolina 4A test on Tuesday, April 29. Porter Ridge will meet a Mavericks team coming off a 1-1 league Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 8-1.
