In Friday's league bout, the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) baseball squad overwhelmed the visiting Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), by a tally of 18-8.

Next up, the Cougars encounter the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) in a Southern Carolina 6A/7A bout, on Tuesday, April 21. Charlotte Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 18-3 season record.

The Spartans (9-12) will now prepare for their bout against Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Panthers enter the Southern Carolina 6A/7A bout with a 4-17 record. In their last bout, Piedmont overcame Central Academy of Technology & Arts (Monroe, NC), 11-1, in a non-league bout.
