In Friday's non-league test, the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) softball squad overwhelmed the host Northwest Falcons (Shiprock, NM), by a tally of 15-1.

Next, the Hawks clash with the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) in a 3A District 1 test, on Wednesday, April 22. Thoreau will attempt to advance on its 5-11 season record. The Thunderbirds go into the test with a 4-14 record after their 15-3 league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM).

The Falcons (1-14) will now prepare for their test against To'hajiilee (To'hajiilee, NM). The Warriors go into the A/2A District 1 test with a 0-2 record. In their last test, To'hajiilee was routed by Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM), 18-3, in a league test.
