In Thursday's league challenge, the River Valley Panthers (Blairsville, PA) baseball squad edged the visiting Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA), by a final score of 7-6.

With the win, River Valley upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Penns Manor (Clymer, PA) to battle the Comets in a Heritage challenge on Monday, April 22. The Comets come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Penns Manor won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Ferndale (Johnstown, PA)

With the defeat, Portage falls to 3-5 on the season. The Mustangs host McKeesport (McKeesport, PA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20.
