North Carolina High School Soccer - Ashley knocks off Laney
April 18, 2024: Wilmington, NC 28412 Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), 4-0 in a league challenge.
Next, the Screaming Eagle confront the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, April 23. Ashley will attempt to better on its 13-0 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 5-3 league loss to Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
The Buccaneers now have a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hoggard for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, April 22. Laney will confront a Vikings team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 10-3.
