Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Golden Tornadoes now own a 4-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Bladen for a Southeastern Athletic 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 23. Fairmont will face a Knights squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC). The Knights record now stands at 2-8.

With the loss, Red Springs falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Red devils host Midway (Dunn, NC) to face the Raiders in a Southeastern Athletic 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 12-2. Midway won 15-5 in their recent league challenge against Clinton (Clinton, NC)
